Are you experiencing any of these?

Most people arrive mid-flare, or after months of tests that haven't added up. Pick whichever is closest to you.

Joint injections and ultrasound when needed

Scan and treat.

Ultrasound is very good at showing what an examination alone cannot: whether a joint, tendon or soft tissue is genuinely inflamed, and exactly where the problem sits.

I have extensive experience in musculoskeletal ultrasound and carry out scans myself in clinic. Where an injection is appropriate, I perform that under ultrasound guidance.

  • Ultrasound assessment of joints, tendons and soft tissues
  • Ultrasound-guided joint and soft tissue injections
  • Carried out by me, in clinic

About Dr Dulay

A rheumatologist and a general physician.

I am a Consultant at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, where I have worked in both rheumatology and general medicine since 2017, and I am Clinical Director for General Medicine there.

That dual training matters more than it sounds. Rheumatological conditions can affect several organs at once, and patients often have more than one problem at the same time. Being a physician as well as a rheumatologist means I can look beyond the joints, see how symptoms connect, and make sure something else isn't being missed.

Not sure yet?

Tell me what's going on.

If rheumatology isn't the right place for your symptoms, I would rather tell you that than take a booking. Send a few lines and my secretary will come back to you.

What happens next

  • My secretary reads every message and replies, usually within a working day.
  • If a clinic appointment is the right next step, she will point you to the quicker of the two diaries.
  • If you are acutely unwell, contact your GP, NHS 111 or emergency services rather than waiting for a reply.

Please don't include detailed medical information you would rather keep private.
