I studied at the University of Southampton and completed all of my postgraduate training in the Wessex region, so I have spent my whole career looking after patients from this part of Hampshire.
That dual training matters more than it sounds. Rheumatological conditions can affect several organs at once, and patients often have more than one problem at the same time. Being a physician as well as a rheumatologist means I can look beyond the joints, see how symptoms connect, and make sure something else isn't being missed.
