Both hospitals take bookings directly through their own systems. If you would rather talk it through first, my secretary will be glad to help.
Where I consult
A video consultation cannot replace an examination, so if your problem is a specific swollen or painful joint, one of the in-person clinics will nearly always be the better use of your time.
Speak to the practice
Usually the quickest way to get an answer. Messages go to the practice, not to a personal phone.
Start a WhatsApp message →Speak to Lisa Karim about availability, fees, or whether a remote appointment would suit you better.
01895 692776 →Best if you want to send GP letters, previous results or scan reports ahead of an appointment.
DrDulayRheumatology@outlook.com →Send a message
Use this form for appointment enquiries, questions about fees and insurance, or if you are not sure whether rheumatology is the right place to start.
My secretary reads every message and will come back to you. If rheumatology isn't right for your symptoms, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
Fees and insurance
It helps, and most insurers require one, but it is not always essential for self-funding patients. A referral letter is useful mainly because it says what has already been tried and tested, which saves going over old ground.
Aviva, AXA Health, Benenden Health, Bupa, Cigna, Healix, Vitality Health and WPA. Check with your insurer first that your policy covers rheumatology, and get an authorisation number before you book, as cover varies between policies.
Self-funding patients are welcome. Fees for the initial consultation and any follow-up are confirmed in writing before you book, so there are no surprises. Ask Lisa Karim for current fees when you get in touch.
Both hospital booking systems show live availability, so the honest answer is whatever their diaries show. If you are in a flare and nothing suitable is showing, message the practice and we will see what can be done.
Any GP correspondence, recent blood test results, scan reports or discs, and a list of your current medications including anything bought over the counter.
Get in touch
If you are acutely unwell, please contact your GP, NHS 111 or emergency services rather than waiting for a private appointment.
